• You can use these directions to reach us in many ways, including biking, public transportation, walking, or driving. Below is a breakdown of some tips for each mode of transportation.

If you want to come by public transportation, we recommend

• Take the Metra train (do not confuse this with CTA "L" subways) from Millenium Station. See this part of the trip in Google Maps. You can buy a metra ticket using the Ventra app, or simply at the station (or last resort with 3.75 in cash directly at the conductor). Note that the metra is a commuter train and runs much less often than the CTA "L" trains (e.g., sometimes only every 30m or 1h, whereas the CTA "L" subways run every 10 minutes).
• After a 15-min train ride, exit at 55th-56th-57th street (University of Chicago), then exiting the train station at 57th street and walking on 57th in the direction of the University of Chicago. See this part of the trip in Google Maps. Note that on the way you can pass some coffee places or restaurants in case you are hungry (this street is not as busy as 55th, but you can still grab a coffee, pastry, or meal if you need).
• Finally, at the door of the John Crerar Library (home of the Computer Science Department), you can follow these directions (with photos) to find the exact room of our lab.

If you want to bike, we recommend

• Bike via the Lakefront Trail, this is a protected bike path along the lake. See this part of the trip in Google Maps. If you are doing this over a snowy winter day, we recommend checking first this bot/page to check the road conditions.
• At the end, as you approach the Promontory Point you can leave the Lakefront Trail and merge onto 55th street, which has a partially protected bike lane.
• As you approach Ellis (or University Ave) you turn left to intersect with 57th, our lab is where Ellis and 57th meet.
• Finally, at the door of the John Crerar Library (home of the Computer Science Department), you can follow these directions (with photos) to find the exact room of our lab.

Driving directions and parking lot

Finding our lab in the John Crerar Library (CS Dep.)

1. First enter the John Crerar Library.

2. Walk up to the stairs (or elevator for an accessible entrance).

3. Take these stairs until the 2nd floor (just one floor up by US standards)

4. Enter the Computer Science Department by crossing these doors.

5. Take a left after entering the Deparment (also you can ask for directions at the reception).

6. You have found us. Our lab is at rooms 292 and 296, right here at the yellow doors.
